Fees paid by convicted offenders placed on community supervision (i.e.; probation) are used to pay rewards — rewards paid for information that helps identify and capture criminals comes from the fees paid by criminals. Additionally, a judge may order a convicted offender to repay Crime Stoppers for a reward paid for information that led to the offender’s capture.
